Watson Buckle Set to Grow Audit Team
Bradford-based chartered accountancy firm Watson Buckle is set for further expansion in its audit department following a recent influx of new clients.
All firms above a certain size are required to have their accounts audited each year, but medium-sized firms such as Watson Buckle are increasingly winning business from the ‘big name’ national and international firms by offering a more personal service at a more competitive price.
Furthermore, Watson Buckle’s membership of the international accountancy association MGI provides reassurance that its team can provide access to any specialised knowledge or international insight that may be required.
Gillian Corcoran, who joined the firm as a trainee five years ago, has recently been promoted to the new position of audit manager and the firm is now advertising for two new recruits to join the team, with plans for further recruitment later in 2011 if the current growth in business continues.
Watson Buckle managing partner Susan Sedgwick said: “In the field of audit, we have done very well in recent years as the economic downturn has caused firms to look more closely at how they are spending their money.
“In many cases they have concluded that a local firm can provide a comparable service to the big names at a much more competitive price, and I know from speaking to my colleagues at other MGI firms that this is a trend being repeated across the country.
“I’m pleased that we have been able to continue creating jobs in Bradford throughout the past few years and look forward to welcoming more recruits to our audit team soon.”
