Accountants Dress Down for Charity

Bradford-based chartered accountancy firm Watson Buckle has raised around £200 by dressing down for two recent charity fundraising events.

Jeans for Genes Day saw staff make a donation in return for coming into work in their denim, to raise cash to help children with genetic disorders.

Proceeds from the annual event goes to a range of charities to help pay for care and support for children with genetic disorders, as well as funding research into genetics and the development of effective treatments and cures.

Wear it Pink day raised funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign, and again saw staff paying to deviate from their normal dress for the day – in this case by brightening up their attire with a pink item of clothing.

The Campaign supports research into breast cancer at a number of sites in the UK and Ireland and has helped to finance a number of groundbreaking discoveries.

Watson Buckle managing partner Susan Sedgwick said: “We always make sure we do our bit for charity each year and both of these events gave us an opportunity to have a bit of fun at the office at the same time as raising money for two good causes.

“We’re very pleased that we’ve been able to make these donations, and we look forward to supporting more such events in 2011.”
