Forward-thinking Bradford accountancy firm Watson Buckle is spending April trying to educate local businesses on the benefits of cloud accounting.

Over the course of the month, Watson Buckle is hosting a series of free workshops to promote its fully-integrated cloud accounting solution, WB Connect – and to remind businesses of the challenges ahead under the Government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) plans.

With businesses earning above the VAT threshold of £85,000 expected to begin storing tax information online and sending quarterly digital reports to HMRC for VAT purposes from April next year, Watson Buckle believes that businesses ought to get up to speed with cloud accounting sooner rather than later.

Susan Sedgwick, Joint Managing Director at the firm, said that its WB Connect service was perfect for businesses that want to get to grips with cloud services before MTD is formally rolled out.

However, she added that the holistic online accounting solution was equally well-suited to businesses that are already using flagship cloud products such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage One to store their financial information online, but are seeking a more personalised service backed by accountancy experts.

“Watson Buckle is a QuickBooks Platinum Partner, but WB Connect can be used in conjunction with all of the latest, most advanced software packages,” she said.

“Our system can help businesses to store all of their tax and financial information in one safe location and to collaborate with our accountants in real-time.”

“By accessing their accounts on the move via smartphone apps, business owners can enjoy significant time savings – and our expert team can communicate with them via the platform should any problems arise.”

“Furthermore, our team only use certified online software with bank-level security and 24/7 customer support, meaning that WB Connect is water-tight when it comes to security,” she said.

Watson Buckle hosted a free workshop at its offices on Thursday 5 April 2018, which provided attendees with an update on MTD and some helpful tips on how they can get the most out of cloud accounting.

The firm is hosting two further free WB Connect workshops on Tuesday 17 April at 6pm and on Wednesday 25 April at 2pm to continue to spread the word.
