Bradford accountants help talented rugby player scrum down on South African tourA talented rugby player has jetted off to South Africa to take part in a developmental rugby tour, thanks to sponsorship from Watson Buckle Chartered Accountants.

Will Bowie, son of Watson Buckle employee Jennifer Bowie, is currently in South Africa with Bradford Grammar School’s Under 17 side.

A 2nd Row or Number 8, Will flew out to South Africa for the school’s Development Tour on 2nd August and will be returning on 18th August. The team are playing a number of fixtures against local teams, whilst they are also sampling some of the local culture and having some time to relax.

Vice-captain of England U-16 Lions, Will has also played for Yorkshire U-15/16s and North of England U-16s. Strong academically, Will is hoping for some impressive GCSE results before studying AS levels in Maths, History, Economics and Politics. He hopes to then study for a degree including economics.

Susan Sedgwick, managing partner at Watson Buckle, said: “When Jennifer approached us about sponsoring Will we had no hesitation in agreeing.

“Will is an extremely talented rugby player and this tour will help him develop as a player and give him the opportunity to experience a different culture.

“Will is being supported through the Watson Buckle Foundation which provides funding to sports clubs, groups, associations and talented individuals.

“We hope that he has a successful tour, doing the city and school proud.”
