Tax Manager

I joined Watson Buckle as an ACA trainee in December 2007, left in 2020, and came back in 2022. I have been able to gain a breadth of experience having worked in our Business Services department, the Corporate Services department in auditing, in the Tax department, and in industry. In 2018 I earned my Chartered Tax qualification, specialising in Indirect Taxes such as VAT.

My role includes working with our Directors on specialist tax projects. One area that I particularly enjoy is Research & Development report writing for clients, to help them claim the generous tax allowances available for advancing knowledge of science and technology in their field. I also relish the opportunity to solve clients’ VAT problems, as VAT is often not straightforward.

I enjoy the wide variety of work I encounter in my role, the chance to meet many different clients, and to help them find solutions that fit their particular needs. In tax, everyone needs their own tailored answer.
