Don’t wait – Get verified today with Companies House
From 18 November 2025, all UK company directors must have completed Companies House’s new Identity Verification (IDV) before their confirmation statement can be filed.
This means if your confirmation statement is due on or after 18 November (even if it is due the very next day) you will not be able to file it unless all directors have already been verified.
The key facts:
- Every director must be verified once but can use that verification for multiple companies.
- Verification is completed through the Government’s One Login service.
- Once verified, you will receive a code. You will need every director’s code to file confirmation statements.
- This is a one-off process. Once done, you won’t need to repeat it annually, but you will need to use your code whenever you set up a new company or file documents.
- Directors and Persons of Significant Control (PSCs) will be able to view the Companies House register from this date to check the identity verification deadlines linked to all their roles.
Why you shouldn’t wait
If you do not act now, we as your filing agent will not be able to submit your confirmation statement on your behalf.
Watson Buckle will not be acting as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) for ID verification.
